DESCRIPTION:From Saturday\, February 1\, a solo exhibition titled “follage” by Hawaii-based artist Kristin Baucom will be held at the Lobby Gallery on the first floor. \nThe exhibition title follage is a coined word combining “forage\,” “foliage\,” and “collage.” In this exhibition\, Kristin\, who redefines the possibilities of natural dyes\, presents works centered on the themes of upcycling and sustainability\, using locally sourced natural materials as well as food scraps that would otherwise be discarded. \nDuring the exhibition period\, dyeing workshops will also be held\, utilizing materials such as used coffee grounds and vegetable peels collected from the hotel’s restaurants and cafés. \n  \nReception Party  \nFebruary 2\, 6:00PM – 8:00PM \n  \nKristin Baucom \nKristin Baucom is a Honolulu-based artist redefining the possibilities of natural dye through a fresh\, contemporary approach. DESCRIPTION:Jesse Sizmo (Lips & Rhythm Records\, San Francisco) \nJesse Sizmo is the casual boss of Lips & Rhythm Records. He has hosted a weekly radio show for 8 years and has spent the same amount of time DJing and digging for records around the planet. His ongoing sound exploration has led him to many wonderful international artists who have released on his vinyl imprint that floats between house\, disco\, funk\, and Balearic frequencies. A musician since his youth\, Sizmo absorbed a wide range of world music beyond contemporary trends and was taught to ignore genres and go with what feels good. This boundary-blurring established a strong foundation for him as a selector in the booth and an A&R man in the field\, hosting day parties and label nights coming up in San Francisco with his ‘family’ of producers. He is also 1⁄2 of the production duo Birds Of Rhythm with longtime partner Soleil and also releases music as Bad Kids Beach Club with Seb Hall. Daisukeが流すラテン音楽を聴きながら、￥600の5種類のタコスをお楽しみください。 \nE.P Daisuke \nIn 1989\, EP Daisuke began his DJ career in Osaka alongside techno DJ Fumiya Tanaka.\nWhile Tanaka delved into techno music\, EP Daisuke leaned towards roots music.\nUnder the mentorship of DJ Kayano\, who organized “BLUES NIGHT\,” EP Daisuke honed his skills as a blues DJ. Alongside DJ Junia\, he co-hosted the event “KILLING FLOOR” at club noon.\nHe also co-founded the event “JUNKERS” with DJ James\, among many other roots music events centered around blues\, based in Osaka. Since 2015\, he has shifted his base to Kyoto\, gathering soul bar proprietors to organize the soul party “Kyoto Black Juice Conference.”\nCurrently\, he collaborates with DJ Baby China\, playing across all genres\, and continues to thrive in his career. \n1989年、テクノDJ田中フミヤ氏と共に大阪にてDJキャリアスタート。田中フミヤはテクノミュージックに傾倒していくがEP Daisukeはルーツミュージックに傾倒。\n「BLUES NIGHT」を主催していたDJ KAYANO氏の下でBlues DJとしてキャリアを積む。\nDJ JUNIA氏と共にclub noon にてイベント「KILLING FLOOR」を主催。DJ James氏とイベント「JUNKERS」を立ち上げる等、大阪を拠点にBluesを中心とする数々のルーツミュージックイベントでプレイ。\n2015年より活動拠点を京都に移し、ソウルバーの店主を集い、ソウルパーティー「京都黒汁会議」を主催。\n現在、DJ Baby China をパートナーとしてオールジャンルをプレイするスタイルで活躍中。

DESCRIPTION:Keiji Ishida (@im_keiji) and Lili Todd (@lilitoddart) present  \na special Earth Day edition of the “GARBAGE ZINE Workshop.”\n \nCreate your own one-of-a-kind original zine. \nOn view April 4  \n12:00pm – 15:00pm in the Lobby Gallery \n  \nKeiji Ishida\nBorn in Nagoya\, Japan\, Keiji Ishida moved to California at the age of two and is currently based in the United States.\nInfluenced by skateboarding from an early age\, he began creating artwork centered around skate culture. He later studied Illustration at ArtCenter College of Design.\nWhile in school\, he worked as an assistant to artists such as Jim Shaw and Cleon Peterson\, developing a particularly close relationship with Jim Shaw.\nSince his student years\, Ishida has collaborated with numerous brands including Target\, Huf Worldwide\, Converse\, Nozbone Skateshop\, and Giant Robot.
