Artist in Residence Exhibition Opening – “Under the Colonial Sky” with Peter Waples-Crowe

Artist Peter Waples-Crowe has been residing in Ace Hotel Sydney for the last few weeks creating a body of mixed media work titled ‘Under The Colonial Sky’.

In partnership with The Substation, we invite you to celebrate Peter’s work on Tuesday 25 March in Good Chemistry, the laneway cafe and gallery space at Ace Hotel Sydney.

All are welcome to join, drinks and snacks on us.

6pm to 8pm. RSVP’s encouraged.

About Ace Artist in Residence 

Our Artist in Residence program, curated in partnership with collectives and institutions that inspire us, provides time to think and space to create. Every quarter, we invite artists across the globe to turn one of our hotel rooms into their studio for a month, then showcase the resulting body of work with the Ace community.

Since the inception of the Artist In Residence program in 2014, participants have included Minjae Kim, Shauna Davis, Antonia Kuo, Morgan Parker, Jason Polan, Cali Thornhill DeWitt, William Powhida, Christian Joy, Nick Zinner, Jamilla Okubo, and Kandis Williams.

About The Substation: 

The Substation is an arts venue with a genre-defiant approach to experimental programming and artist led-initiatives. For their curatorial concept, the organization has chosen four artists whose work speaks to the possibility of “shifting paradigms,” and the idea that art can make us question our most fundamental assumptions.
