Our series, “Shorts In Conversation,” makes a moment for cinema and dialogue. We invite an organization to curate a showing of films alongside their makers, followed by the directors in dialogue about their craft. The month of May begins our partnership with Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival.  Screening focuses on their #untiltomorrow Archive.

Reel Asian will be featuring films & local filmmakers from their #untiltomorrow archive that records shorts now made available online that have been programmed throughout the history of Reel Asian, which goes all the way back to 1997!

Works by Howie Shia, Flutter (7 min; 2006) and SoJin Chun, Officer Tuba Meets Happy Ghost (5 min; 2011), Andrea Nirmala Widjajanto, SRIKANDI (8 min; 2022) and Haaris Qadri, majboor-e-mamool (8 min; 2022) are confirmed.

All films screening will be accompanied with open captions or English subtitles (all languages will be subtitled, including English).
