Immediate Family Doc Screening

‘Immediate Family’ is a testament to the impact of a group of musicians who became the studio band to the biggest stars of the 1970s and beyond. This documentary not only chronicles their journey but also the wave of studio players they inspired, following in the footsteps of ’60s session icons, ‘The Wrecking Crew’. Directed by Denny Tedesco, who made the ‘Wrecking Crew’ documentary, ‘IF’ follows the next wave of musicians who would create the Singer-Songwriter sound. They were Leland Sklar, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, and Waddy Wachtel. They backed everyone from James Taylor, Carole King, Don Henley and Linda Ronstadt, CSN, Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, and many more.

This special event starts with legendary bassist Leland Sklar autographing his book, “Everybody Loves Me.” Books will be available for purchase. Relax and enjoy the Commune at Ace Hotel with drinks and small bites followed by a screening of ‘Immediate Family’ and a Q+A with director Denny Tedesco and bassist Leland Sklar.
