Having grown up surrounded by music from an early age, Roland began to collect records in the late 80’s – new wave, hip hop, disco, ska and reggae. Around the same time, he was introduced to the sounds of house music which led to many late-night adventures in Toronto’s club and afterhours scene. From that developed a fascination with DJ and sound system culture.
Over the past 3 decades, Roland has curated a diverse collection of sounds. As a selector, he has explored the whole spectrum of dance music to develop his own unique style, which invites audiences to release, let go, and feel something. Roland is also a promoter whose focus is to shine a light on under-the-radar local and international talent in his hometown of Toronto.
ローランドは幼い頃から音楽に囲まれて育ち、80年代後半にはニューウェーブ、ヒップホップ、ディスコ、スカ、レゲエなどのレコードを集め始めました。同時期にハウスミュージックと出会い、トロントのクラブやアフターアワーズで夜な夜な音に浸る日々を経験。その中でDJやサウンドシステムカルチャーへの強い魅力を抱くようになります。
過去30年以上にわたり、多彩な音楽を掘り下げてきたロランドは、幅広いダンスミュージックを横断しながら独自のスタイルを確立。オーディエンスを解き放ち、感情を揺さぶるプレイでフロアを包み込みます。
またプロモーターとしても活動し、地元トロントを拠点に、まだ広く知られていない国内外の才能に光を当てることに力を注いでいます。
